Living As A Light In The World

Evangelism is a great tool and is also a command, a gift, and a calling. Although we don’t have many examples of evangelists in the Bible, the lifestyle of a witness is seen throughout the Scriptures.  Bearing witness of the saving power of Jesus Christ is not just left to those who possess a gift or walk in the five-fold call. Evangelism is the light that emanates from us in a darkened world because of our relationship with Jesus.

Obi and Andrea Nwagwu

Obi and Andrea Nwagwu and their son, Henry, 2, are part of Covenant Harvest Church in Pittsburg, Kansas.  Obi moved to Pittsburg from Lagos, Nigeria in 1998. He has been involved in many aspects of church life from living in a community house with other college guys to worship team, from youth group to nursing home outreach, and from building maintenance to preaching.  He has a vision to bring modern healthcare to rural Africa in a way that is self-sustaining. He is currently working toward that goal by completing his master’s degree in family nursing practice.

HealthCare in Africa

There is a desperate need for even the most basic health services in many developing nations.  Our churches are full of young people who dream of doing medical work in these places and Obi is working to create opportunities for them to serve.  He is currently developing a relationship with a doctor in Uganda who runs several clinics and is also trying to plan a medical missions “exploratory” trip to Mexico or the Philippines within the next couple of years.
